CaptSure™ ELISA Assay Performance

TGR’s CaptSure™ technology allows the conversion of conventional multi-incubation/multi-wash ELISAs to just a single incubation and wash step. This improvement is afforded by combining all assay reactants in solution with the analyte, and allowing simultaneous equilibrium binding of the reactants to occur. In other words, the analyte is bound by both the primary assay antibody and the detector antibody in solution during the same incubation. At the same time, the reactants are bound to a solid phase via the CaptSure™ immobilisation tag. Ultimately, after a single incubation and wash step, only immunocomplexes carrying all reactants (ie primary antibody-analyte-detector antibody) are detected.

Other solution-phase binding formats typically use biotin or other mechanisms to immobilise immunocomplexes. These can constrain the sample types that can be used with the assay. In contrast, the CaptSure™ ELISA format has been specifically designed to be used with most sample matrices without interference:

A typical CaptSure™ ELISA assay has a single incubation with immunoassay reactants, which takes around one hour to perform, without compromising assay sensitivity or quality. In comparison, conventional ELISA assay formats usually have 3 separate incubations, and often take 3-5 hours or more:
